THE DOG AND HIS SHADOW
1. A dog, who (to run) away with a
large piece of meat which he (to steal), (to
come) to a stream over which there (to be) a
little bridge.
2. As he (to cross) the bridge, he (to look)
down and (to see) another dog with another large
piece of meat in his mouth.
3. Not knowing that what he (to see) was only
the reflection of himself in the clear water,
he greedily (to drop) his own meat and (to make)
a snatch at the other.
4. But, instead of getting anything, he only
(to lose) the meat he (to steal).
